THE GRAY - MOVIE REVIEW
29/11/2011
4 HOURS
The next movie I will review is "The Gray" starring Liam Nelson.
To be frank, the initial reason why I even started watching this movie is because of the outstanding critics it had received. I don't usually base my opinion on the film critics, but I do like to read their reviews since they have a more sophisticated and professional approach towards movies.
Liam Nelson, is one of the actors who I consider one of the best ones of all times. He was in "Taken" and "Schindler's List", one of the well-known movies.
The movie "The Gray" could be categorized as a thriller/action movie. The plot commences as a plane full of passangers crashes into a deserted, dangerous teritory inhabited by a huge herd of wolves. Seven passengers survive the crash of the plane, including Ottway (Liam Nelson) who is trained for killing wolves. As they fight for survival with almost no food in a freezing winter, the group of seven guys suffers several attacks by the wild wolves, killing one of them each time of the attack.
The directing aspect of the movie is incredible. The movie manages to draw the viewer straight into the plot, making them feel for the main character as they basically fight for their lives.
The actors really do a great job as well, each of them has a different personality. The film portrays themes such as survival, friendship, humanity, human nature and death.
The brilliant aspect of the movie is inablity of the viewer to guess what will happen next as each new frame of the movie turns out to be unpredictable and I consider that to be one of the movie's main attributes.
